Lextran will offer modified service on three holidays during the remainder of 2022 including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
Thanksgiving
Sunday Schedule
Free Rides on Thanksgiving Day – November 24
Lextran routes will provide service for Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 24, with routes following a Sunday schedule. As a thank you to customers, fare will be waived for all passengers on Thanksgiving Day.
The following Lextran routes, which typically operate on Thursdays, will not operate on Thanksgiving Day.
- Route 14 – UK Blue and White Routes
- Route 16 – Southland Drive
- Route 17 – Northside Connector
- Route 18 – Centre Parkway Connector
- Route 22 – Mercer Road
- Route 24 – Old Frankfort Pike
- Route 51 – Night – Woodhill Drive
- Route 52 – Night – Georgetown Road
- Route 58 – Night – Versailles Road
- Route 59 – Night – Eastland
The Lextran Customer Service phone line and Downtown Transit Center window will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. All Lextran routes and customer service will return to regular operation on Friday, November 25.
Customers are encouraged to utilize Lextran’s text-for-next feature for upcoming departures. Simply text LX + your stop number (ex: LX123) to 321-123. The MyStop Mobile app is also available for download in the Apple Store and Google Play store and provides real time bus tracking and trip planning for Lextran routes.
Christmas Day
Modified Schedule – Reduced Hours
Lextran routes will provide modified service with reduced hours for Christmas Day on Sunday, December 25.

The following Lextran routes will not operate on Christmas Day.

- Route 16 – Southland Drive
- Route 17 – Northside Connector

- Route 24 – Old Frankfort Pike
- Route 27 – UK Yellow Route
- Route 51 – Night – Woodhill Drive
- Route 52 – Night – Georgetown Road
- Route 58 – Night – Versailles Road
- Route 59 – Night – Eastland
Customer service will have the following hours:
December 23 – CS Hours – 6 am – 6 pm
December 24 – CS Hours – CS 8 am – 4 pm
December 25 – CS Closed
December 26 – CS Hours – 8 am – 4 pm
New Year’s Day

Lextran routes will provide service for New Year’s Day on Sunday, January 1, with routes following a regular Sunday schedule.
The following Lextran routes will not operate on New Year’s Day.
