In her current role, Jill provides strategic vision and leadership to the organization while also managing Lextran’s legislative efforts and media relations. She currently serves on the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) Small Operations committee, and previously served as Chair of the Mayor’s Commission for People with Disabilities. Jill has been recognized by Mass Transit magazine as one of the “Top 40 Under 40” transit professionals and a graduate of the Leadership Lexington program.
Jill previously served as the Assistant General Manager for four years. Jill has also served as Lextran’s Director of Community Affairs for six years where she oversaw marketing and communications, community relations, and customer service for the organization.
Jim manages a team that oversees the day-to-day preventive and contingent maintenance of Lextran’s fleet and facilities. During Jim’s tenure, Lextran has completed the construction of a compressed natural gas fueling station and accepted the delivery of 17 new vehicles. Beginning his career as a B-mechanic at TARC in Louisville, Jim held progressively responsible positions before retiring as their Director of Maintenance. Jim joined Lextran in October 2016, bringing with him more than thirty years of transit experience.
Fred oversees Lextran’s planning, technology, community relations, and communications functions. He is the Chair of the Transportation Technical Coordination Committee, a collaborative of transportation professionals that provides technical guidance and recommendations to the Transportation Policy Committee, the decision-making body of the Lexington Area Metropolitan Planning Organization. Fred joined Lextran in 2016, bringing with him more than ten years of transportation planning experience. He also serves as the organization’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Liaison Officer and a member of the Pension Committee.
Jason oversees the day-to-day operations of fixed-route service and ensures compliance across multiple regulatory bodies. Prior to leading the Operations Department, Jason was Lextran’s first Training Manager, where he helped to develop the agency’s training programs. Jason first joined Lextran in 1998 and has held multiple positions in operations and training. He was promoted to his current position in 2019.
Nikki oversees Lextran’s Finance Department and is responsible for the development of an organizational operating budget of $27 million per year. Her role also includes budget analysis, grant management, payroll, multi-year financial plans, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Nikki also serves as a member on the Finance Committee and Pension Committee. She joined Lextran in 2006 as a staff accountant and was named the Director of Finance in 2012.
John oversees Lextran’s insurance programs, safety and security compliance, and operator development training. He currently serves as the Lead Transportation Coordinator for the local Division of Emergency Management and a member of the American Public Transportation Association International Bus Roadeo Committee. John began his career at Lextran more than 35 years ago and has since held positions as an operator, operator trainer, and training coordinator.
