Lextran’s fleet is 100% lift or ramp equipped. Most lift and ramp systems can accommodate up to 800 pounds and incorporate a special lift barrier and belt for maximum safety. All buses have 4-point tie downs and most have shoulder belts that limit forward and side movements. For passenger safety, Lextran requires that all wheelchairs must be secured in one of the two designated areas by the operator. If both wheelchair areas are occupied the operator will contact a supervisor for assistance.
These lifts and ramps are available to those using other types of mobility devices or those that need them. All mobility devices should be folded if possible and not block the aisle.
With more than 900 bus stops, Lextran makes every effort to pursue accessibility across the city. It is recommended that passengers assess their commute for bus stops that best suit their needs.Â
