Lextran will offer a free shuttle from the Downtown Transit Center to Fayette County’s sole polling location, Kroger Field, for the Primary Election on June 23.
The first shuttle will depart Bay 6 of the Downtown Transit Center at 6:00 a.m. It will depart thereafter every 15-20 minutes. The last shuttle will depart Kroger Field at 6:45 p.m.
“In a typical election our routes are within the proximity of many polling locations providing easy access to voting for everyone,” said Carrie Butler, Lextran General Manager. “During these times, we are happy to offer this shuttle to get people directly to the polls to cast their ballots.”
The shuttle will be non-stop in both directions and will not pick-up or drop-off passengers along the way.
At this time, Lextran’s reduced schedules due to COVID-19 will still be active on Election Day.
Wheels Paratransit Service will be providing service to Kroger Field by scheduled appointment only for qualified customers. For questions or to make an appointment please call Wheels at (859) 233-3433.
Passengers can also vote early in-person by making an appointment at the Lexington Senior Center. You can make an appointment by calling (859) 253-3344. Route 1 – Woodhill Drive serves bus stops directly in front of the Senior Center.
All voters are first and foremost encouraged to vote by mail via absentee ballots which must be requested by June 16.
