Lextran has proposed service adjustments impacting three Lextran bus routes beginning December 21, 2025.
Lextran is proposing service adjustments that will impact the following Lextran bus routes beginning Sunday, December 21, 2025:
- Route 2 – Georgetown Road
- Route 15 – Red Mile
- Route 17 – Northside Connector
These adjustments aim to improve overall reliability and timeliness of each of these three routes. All other Lextran routes will remain the same.
Proposed Route Adjustments
Route 2 – Georgetown Road
| Adjustment | Reason |
| – Route adjustment near the end of the line and the Kearney Ridge area – Route adjustment near Jaggie Fox Way area – Route adjustment near Erie Road/Waverly Drive area – Time adjustments on the schedule for all inbound and outbound trips | – Improve overall reliability and timeliness of the route – Provide service to Kearney Ridge area |
Route 15 – Red Mile
| Adjustment | Reason |
| – Remove the “clockwise” route pattern and double the number of buses traveling in the “counterclockwise” direction (total number of buses remains the same, all buses will now move in the same direction) – Remove all Route 15 “clockwise” bus stops – Implement a 5-to-7-minute headway on Route 15 on weekdays (until 6:00 pm) | – Improve overall reliability and timeliness of the route |
Route 17 – Northside Connector

Public Meetings and Public Engagement Opportunities
Lextran will offer multiple public engagement opportunities where community members can learn about the proposed service improvements, ask questions, and submit public comments.
Public engagement opportunities will be held at the following locations:
- Northside Library – 1733 Russell Cave Rd, Lexington, KY 40505
- Thursday, November 20 – 11:00 am
- Black and Williams Neighborhood Center – 498 Georgetown St, Lexington, KY 40508
- Friday, November 21 – 10:00 am
- The Oasis at Kearney Creek – 2750 Meadowsweet Ln, Lexington, KY 40511
- Monday, November 24 – 1:00 pm
Public Comment Period
The public comment period for the proposed adjustments will begin Monday, November 11 and end at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 26.
Lextran’s customers and community members will have the opportunity to give feedback on the December 2025 Proposed Service Improvements in the following ways:
